The signs and symptoms of Leprosy are very hard to determine because the signs are very subtle, and occur slowly. Some of the diseases that are correlated with leprosy are syphilis, tetanus, and leptospirosis. Even though leprosy primarily affects the skin, there are many other symptoms that could determine if an individual has leprosy. Some factors are painless ulcers, and loss of the sense of touch. The five primary symptoms are:

·      Skin lesions

·      Decreased sensation of touch, heat, or pain

·      Lesions do not heal after several weeks or months

·      Numbness in limbs such as arms and legs

·      Muscle weakness

·      Etc.
